This year-long initiative pairs children ages 6-18 from El Sistema-inspired music education sites across Massachusetts with Longy conservatory students for rehearsals and extraordinary performances.

Side-by-Side student participants receive: Top-quality orchestral training led by internationally recognized Sistema Side-by-Side faculty, combined with private and small-group instruction from Longy Conservatory Orchestra musicians. Opportunities to build meaningful connections with youth El Sistema-inspired musicians from across Massachusetts. Performance experience in celebrated concert venues, including Harvard’s Sanders Theatre and the Fisher Center of Bard College. Side by Side by El Sistema Over five busy days in summer, children and young people from all over the world meet in Gothenburg to play in orchestras and sing in choirs.

Side by Side by El Sistema goes Digital This Year Due to current world events, and in accordance with the recommendations from Swedish authorities, the camp have decided to remake this year’s Side by Side to a fully digital music camp, Side by Side: Digital.
